As a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) student entering the workforce, you may find yourself thinking about how your sexual identity, gender identity, and gender expression relate to your job search. The following collection of resources may be helpful for the LGBT person entering the workplace. If you have questions about career planning, concerns about your job search, and are questioning how your multiple identities might influence your career decisions, we welcome and encourage you to discuss these concerns with a career counselor.

- Consortium of Higher Education Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Professionals: The mission of the Consortium is to achieve higher education environments in which lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni have equity in every respect. Our goals are to support colleagues and develop curriculum to professionally enhance this work; to seek climate improvement on campuses; and to advocate for policy change, program development, and establishment of LGBT Office/Centers.
- Al-Fatiha (for LGBT Muslims): Al-Fatiha is dedicated to Muslims of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and questioning or exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity (LGBTIQQ), and their families, friends and allies.

- PlanetOut: Networking resource that has a Money and Careers section with news and resources including ways to find gay-friendly organizations.
- Idealist.Org: Search on "gay, lesbian and bisexual issues" for a list of LGBT-related non-profit organizations in the U.S.
- Immigration Equality: National grass roots organization that works to end discrimination in U.S. immigration law against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and HIV-positive people, and to help obtain asylum for those persecuted in their home country based on their sexual orientation, transgender identity or HIV-status.
