Career Counseling & Pre-Professional Advising

One-on-one appointments are available with our career counselors.  Students can learn about self-assessments and career decision-making, find out how to research industries and occupations, get help choosing a major, or receive advice about conducting a job or internship search.  Our pre-professional advisors can offer guidance and assistance in navigating Pre-Health, Pre-Graduate and Pre-Law pathways.

Counselor Office Hours

Quick 15-minute appointments are available for those students who have declared a major. Please go to http://career.emory.edu/students/meet_your_counselor.html and choose the counselor listed by your major for a brief bio and office hour availability. You can also call the front desk at 404.727.6211 for more information.

Formal Career Assessment

Self-assessment is an important part of understanding how your values, interests and personality fit with various career options.  Students may choose to take advantage of formalized career assessment tools in addition to working with a career counselor.  Both the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) are available as a career assessment package.  A nominal fee of $30 covers testing and consultation with a career counselor to interpret results.
