Post a Job or Internship

Handshake hosts all job postings (full-time, part-time, internship), on-campus interviews, information sessions, and Career Center events exclusively available to students and alumni served through Emory University’s Career Center.

Unpaid Internships

All internships posted at Emory University must meet the internship guidelines set forth by the National Association for Colleges and Employers (NACE) and the Department of Labor Fair Labor Standards Act. We also highly recommend reviewing NACE’s 15 Best Practices recommendations for Internship Programs, particularly if this is the first time you are offering an internship.

Please review the guidelines for posting unpaid internships and information on academic credit here.

Third Party Recruiters

Third party agencies can only post positions with The Career Center if:

  • They are actively recruiting for a bona fide employment opportunity that is appropriate for the skill sets and experience of the students and alumni served by The Career Center on behalf of an employer and provide the name of the client within the Job Title and Job Description AND
  • The employer’s account in Handshake lists "Third Party Staffing" within the Industry field in their employer account.

The Career Center reserves the right to make a determination of the appropriateness of the positions being offered for the populations it serves. Parties whose employer account and/or job posting that do not comply with the above conditions will be declined and the employer account will removed from the Emory Handshake system.

Personal Service Position

The Career Center does not accept or post positions that employ students for personal purposes and are not within a company (e.g., babysitting, tutoring, housesitting, etc.).

An exception to this rule is made for faculty and staff of Emory University and Emory Healthcare through the Emory Work Life Resource Center’s Emory Employee-Student Job Network. You must be an Emory faculty or staff to access this system.

Job Posting Policies

The Career Center reserves the right to post only those jobs that will enhance students’ overall career experience. We will determine posting eligibility and decline positions deemed unsuitable for students seeking full‐time, internship, or relevant part time positions. There is no guarantee that we will be able to fill your position in any given period of time.
