
Finding a job or internship as an international student does come with some additional responsibility, but The Career Center and the office of International Student & Scholar Services are here to help.
International Student Professional Development Advisor – The Career Center and Residence Life created a position, the International Student Personal and Professional Development Advisor (ISPPDA), to provide additional support for international students receiving career counseling at Emory University. The ISPPDA for the 2019-2020 academic year is Chelsea Appiah (chelsea.korankye.appiah@emory.edu).
][[The ISPPDA can meet with students for a one-on-one consultation by appointment, 7 days a week. A Career Counselor can also refer students to the ISPDA.
F-1: Finding Meaningful Work in the US program: International students face unique challenges in securing US jobs and internships. Every year, The Career Center hosts professionals from an immigration law firm and Emory’s ISSS office to share strategies and resources to help international students successfully navigate the U.S. employment process. Hire Us is an event designed to connect students who have historically faced under representation and/or discrimination in work environments and hiring processes with employers committed to building and supporting a diverse and inclusive workforce. During this event, employers will be invited to connect directly with students who identify with:
- Access/Disability
- Students of Color
- LGBT
- Women
You will have the opportunity to not only learn about positions at the organization, you can also learn about how these employers support diversity & inclusion in the workplace.
